Fancy Cthulhu Domain statue now available

By chicklewis, in CoC General Discussion

These are my reasons for being less than interested:

- $60 for a set

- I prefer the look of the Cthulhu figure that comes with the Core Set

- I have a full set of the ccg Domains that look super cool

I found the Domain statue as low as $13.95 ($41.85 set). Make it $10 each and then maybe...

Tokhua, yep, at that price it is a bit too 'spendy' for a set of three. I am hoping that eventually we may see a set of 8 different domains, released one at a time. However, if this one doesn't sell pretty well, no more are likely to be released. I'll buy one just for the completist in me.

I too will most likely be drawn in to purchase one for the same reason...

While I admit that idol cthulhu is a very beautiful item, I'll likely not buy one. I mean, it's cool and all. It's the size of a card. It's cthulhu. It's released as part of the game.

But, I don't see "Call of Cthulhu Card Game" on it. I find that vital. Does it fit the game, or is it made for the game. I applaud anyone its use. I myself think they don't accomplish what the card coffin does. The card coffin is an odd shape and the insert needs removal. But it enhances the experience, and a card box is necessary. Domain cthulhu is like a book end. That's what the side of the book case is for. Takes up visual space, three dimensional space. Feels bulky. And R'yleh is afterthoughty, not bad, worth the $14.

The card sleeves, if the illustration works for you, are great. The olde tokens I would gladly have. Only because they are anciently collectible. I like stones or beads. The Core cardboard pieces are ok with the board. But I prefer the heft. That's as much 3D as I need. Unless they make a screaming amazing domain marker. This one hits me like a plush cthulhu, basically as thematic but not the right "shape." I'd rather a thick plate of a domain, engraved appropriately.
