what's on top right now?

I haven't been following uber competetive decks atm... what's rocking the scene mercilessly? Still that dwarf deck with rangers that forced repond to nuke your capitol, or has that been changed or challenged?

Dwarves with Reclaim the Fallen are really hard to beat. I'm not aware of anything that's >50% against that right now.

I still believe an Orc/Skaven deck with quick, light hitters might come close. This is just a belief of mine given what I saw this past weekend.

Dark Elves with Undead looks pretty good too. Abuses come into play and leave play effects. Necromancy and Slave Pen go hand in hand.

Clam, are there any cards you're pumped about from all the recent previews we've recently gotten here at the site..and why? :)

Knight's Panther is a solid little card... It's not metagame changing, but he'll get played in Empire decks. Soul Stealer could be good, but again, it's not going to unseat Dwarves any time soon.

Yeah, I can see those being at least marginally exciting.

  • Friedrich is enormous. Yes, he dies to Master Rune of Spite, but just flopping him on the table on turn 2 and swinging is pretty frightening. If anything, he is the main reason why Dwarves may still play Spite (because it's not all that good against other Dwarf decks). I don't understand why people would say that guy is bad.
  • Forges of Nuln is probably too slow but may conceivably be worth playing since you can get it down t1 and stick Huntsmen or somesuch on it.
  • Dreamer of Dragons is a nice enabler for casual healing decks.
  • The triple alliances are a pretty solid tool to bear in mind.
  • Withering Hex is efficient - but the trouble is it doesn't blank the text box to shut down Treasure Vaults or Mining Tunnels.

As for the next cycle preview, Light of Morrslieb seems like a win-more card for Mining Tunnels decks at the moment. There will presumably be something more to do with it later given that "developments matter" is stated as the Morrslieb theme.

Sadly, the total effect on the actual metagame of the latest BP is basically none even though there are decent cards in there in isolation. Still Dwarves vs. other Dwarves, even though the Dwarves didn't get anything too amazing in the BP.
