loremaster of hoeth + outpost of tiranoc

By Shindulus, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

To confirm the way I play theim :

Loremaster of hoeth

Forced: After this unit enters play, each player takes 2 indirect damage. (Players assign their own indirect damage.)

Outpost of Tiranoc

Whenever you deal indirect damage, deal 1 aditional indirect damage.

Is it ok that no matter how many Outpost of tiranoc are in played, when I play Loremaster both player continue to take 2 indirect damage each?

It appeared to be quite obvious in english but that was more confusing in my natural language.

I could honestly see it being either way. "Take damage" is still damage that is dealt, it just means the source is the card itself (IIRC, this was clarfied with regard to Thyrus Gorman). So could either go with the literal and only apply when the phrase "deal indirect damage" in on the card or use it for all your indirect, even those with "take indirect damage" since that damage is still indirect damage that gets dealt.

Such cards where the difference is made, make me ask for the question.

Elven Warship

ACTION: At the beginning of your turn, deal 2 indirect damage to target opponent (players allocate their own indirect damage.)

Surprise Assault

Action: Deal X indirect damage to one target player. X is the number of developments in your battlefield. (Players assign their own indirectdamage.)

I have made a rules request to be sure, I will give the answer here.

Edit : and your point about thyrus make me think that the text is as you say :

Whenever you deal indirect damage, deal 1 aditional indirect damage.

and not : Whenever indirect damage are dealt, deal 1 aditional indirect damage.

The "source" of the damage seemed to be also important.

I have not yet received any answer but I really think that the clarification about Thyrus, put in evidence that the source of the damage is important to be checked :

Thyrus Gorman

Q. Why does it say "takes damage" on Thyrus Gorman instead of "is dealt damage"?
A. Because the source of the effect is itself. www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp

I already asked James twice but have not yet received an answer. Was anyone more successful than me?

When I have an Outpost of Tiranoc in play and my Loremaster of Hoeth enters play, how much damage does my opponent have to take?

Still no answer from James?

I too would like an official response on this.

1. If I play Loremaster of Heoth having already Tiranoc Outpost in play, how many damage each player take? (Take is "to deal damage by source to itself right?)

James Hata do mnie

"Here are the answers to your questions.

1) 3 indirect damage."

finally! thx a lot guys.
