There's some truth to it though. Just compare the Dark Angel's past histories and the Space Wolves'.

Dark Angels and Space Wolves could have their own interpretations of the events of history. In fact, that could be one of the major reasons they don't get along. I don't have the DW book with me now, so I can't read that specifically.
Given the lead designer of the game is a self professed Space Wolf fan, I don't think I agree. (Self Professed as in told me in person at the Deathwatch Gen Con release
