Zealots/Flagellants of the Cult of Red Redemption: are they chaos or imperial people?

By Emirikol, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I've read interesting things on the Cult of the Red redemption Zealots & Flagellants. Are they a chaos cult? Would be be a good character concept (in a "non-evil" group of PC's?)

"Uniforms and Heraldry of the Empire" sho them as being a unit, yet other places I see them lsited as being hunted by witch hunters, allied with Khorne, and there is mention of 'chaos' somewhere in there.

Anyone here an expert on that topic?

IIRC, Khorne Cult, active in araby during the crusades. Founded by Eroneus Balbadron based on a grimore known as 'the Darkhold'. Known for wearing brass masks that they put on after heating them. They were on of the poriginal Reginents of Renown, 2nd or 3rd edition WFB.
