Is discarding a duplicate consider to be a "save"

For example, if there is a "cannot be saved" effect in force (assault on King's landing) and valar morgulis is played, can a character with duplicates on discard the duplicates, or do all copies have to go?

Discarding a dupe is considered a save, and therefor cannot be saved effects do not allow a dupe to be discarded for this purpose.
