Now I know I'm going ahead of myself but...

will we get chaplains and gray knights? pretty please

also as in when will the next source book be released?

Chaplains is most likely going to be in the sourcebook after this next one coming out if I'm not mistaken (which means I probibly am =P) and Grey Knights....ummmmmm....no. Grey Knights are Ordos Malleus, Deathwatch concerns Ordos Xenos. Plus the power level of Grey Knights would have every mission have to be the players going after at least minor Deamon Princes.....Grey Knights are a no go....unless you took what they have in the Deathwatch book and made your own. I made a "initiate" of the Grey Knights just for fun =P

Here is a link to the release schedule.

Chaplains should be in Rites of Battle from the looks of things. They are probably too badass to be starting PCs.

Grey Knights appear to fall under the auspices of Dark Heresy and will be covered in Daemon Hunter scheduled spring next year

Looks good for the near future.

I expect Chaplains to be an advanced alternative, like the alternate progression options for different careers in The Inquisitor's Handbook, i.e. if you meet the prerequisites, you'll be able to take the alternative Chaplain advancement levels.

Mmmm

daemonhunters... thank you verry much :P

you can sort of make a chaplain right now given a few advancements. just take a tactical marine and use tactical expertise along with a close combat chapter attack pattern. while it's not a very CC oriented one, i'd prefer the Ultramarine "lead by example" one simply because it can be sustained and you're not using up constant cohesion points every round. fluffwise, you can say your armor's helmet is modified to a skull (and possibly take the fear generating armor effect if possible) and load up on a hatred or two with XP.

Grey Knights will be part of the Demon Hunter supplement for Dark Heresy it seems.

Yeah I noticed. Thanks for this info... Now I just need to go and buy those books as well :D

However, with them being covered by Dark Heresy, there is obviously no guarantee that there will be rules for PC Grey Knights, since if they planned for them to be PCs, they'd arguably release them as a supplement for the "Space Marine" RPG.

While I don't have any playtester inside info lengua.gif , I too would be very surprised if they inlcuded rules for Grey Knight PCs. FFG's mantra has consistently been "separate but compatible;" putting SM PC rules in DH would seem to contradict that.

Still, it would be nice...

"Daemon Hunter provides material for those
who wish to fight the enemy beyond, from the
most untested Banisher to the supreme opponents
of the warp... the Grey Knights."

Now while what you say makes sense, the wording of the above seems to indicate that PC Grey Knights are being covered.

Maybe their thinking is that there is no room for the Grey Knights (a different chamber millitant) in a Deathwatch game? What's actually the relation between these two organizations? Is there any rivalry?

Alex

YES!!!

FFG is awesome! Oh man I need to find a local gaming group when I get home.

Is there a group finder out there?

I've no playtester inside info, it's just my opinion. Why would they cover all of the Space Marine PC rules all over again in DH when it makes a lot more sense for it to be released as a supplement to Deathwatch.

I'm expecting NPCs and background info on Grey Knights, and nothing more.

To charge us again $40 for a book the replicates 50 pages of previous published material.

I would have thought you wouldn't get DeathWatch Chaplains. Aren't Chaplains supposed to be the warrior priests or their particular chapter? Each chapter has it's own beliefs, so how can a Blood Angel's Chaplain motivate and encourage a Dark Angel? I could be wrong, but I thought that a warrior of a Chaplain's calibre wouldn't be called on to leave their Chapter.

On the Grey Knights: I'm going to guess that your able to play them but only for those very special missions.

On Chaplains: Chaplains can also be called into the Deathwatch, if Librarians and Apothecaries could so could a Chaplain.

I just hope the Grey Knights are compatible with Deathwatch - in other words, made with the same basic rules just their own career so to say.

As for Chaplains, have to agree, probably an Advanced Path since they can come from any career I'd imagine.

I'd guess that the Deathwatch has specially trained individuals, Deathwatch Chaplains, who have essentially left their old chapter behind for good and who preach now the lowest common denominator and watch over the Marines' purity and spiritual well-being. Perhaps Initiates who have never been part of a regular chapter at all?

Alex

For the Grey Knight, it's pretty much been covered: They are more of a Dark Heresy product by the role but more of a Deathwatch product by their rule. Either way like many I would love to see rules for them...maybe as a supplement fror both Deathwatch and Dark Heresy or simply a Deathwatch supplement that is Dark Heresy compatible.

The other thing I would love to see is more Space Marine Chapters. Granted we cannot cover them all and the main books cover the most common ones, but I would still love to see other less know Chapters like my personal favorite the Scythes of the Emperor.
