Hello and Welcome Back, Loyal A Game of Thrones Fans!

We return this week to our card spoilers of the next Chapter Pack in the Brotherhood Without Banners expansion, The Mountains of the Moon. Last time we had a first look at the deepening Clansman trait that is developing over the course of this expansion cycle.

This week we return to Lannister's Clansmen and take a look at some more of the counterintuitive abilities that are finding a home in House Lannister.

We begin with an attachment that is bound to find a home in Lannister decks of this new paradigm, Vale Scavenger. As we saw in the preview for Tyrion's Enforcers, there are Clansmen that benefit from their controller having fewer cards in hand than their opponent. This runs counter to Lannister's usual strength of destroying an opponent's hand through intrigue challenges.

Vale Scavenger is double-edged in that, in an effort to have fewer cards in hand than your opponent you can choose to give your opponent a card, or, as is normal for Lannister, you can draw a card for yourself. Remember: you need not have a small number of cards in hand in order to have fewer in hand than your opponent. If you have seven and your opponent has eight, you're still in a pretty good position and, if necessary, you can resort to the old Lannister tricks of demolishing your opponent's hand.

Moving on, we find a card that you might use Vale Scavenger to power, Timett Son of Timett's own Burned Men. Like any Army, they are a bit on the pricey side, but that's not usually a problem for House Lannister. Price aside, they do bring value for the money with both Deadly and a WAR crest, as well as the Clansman trait that seems to be doing so well in this expansion. If that wasn't enough, their special ability adds the icing to the cake: with bruisers like these in play, you don't necessarily need to sacrifice your hand size, or do your opponent a favor by letting him draw a card, but it can't hurt if it means wiping out an additional character or grabbing a game-winning power.
