Clarification on personal stories that involve drawing of items

By zealot12, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

For example, the pass condition for Amanda's Sharpe personal story is: Each time Amanda draws a Unique item, put a Clue token on this card. If there are 3 Clue tokens on this card, place Head of Class in play.

Does that mean that one visit to the Curiositie Shop for the purpose of buying items is sufficient for her to pass her personal story?

No. The item must be drawn and kept before it counts.

Thanks. That's what I wanted to know.

you're welcome. The wording is not clear but this has been the official ruling since just after IH came out. Others can be found in the sticky part of the forum.
