Recharge on Melee Strike?

By MrToasT, in WFRP Rules Questions

Hey folks,

so there was this question coming up in last game, where there were already recharge tokens on the PC's alternative attack and the GM got to place additional recharge tokens on an action card of the player. The GM wanted to place those tokens on his basic "Melee Strike", but the player complained that this way he would have no possibility to melee attack, because he only had those 2 melee cards. Is it possible to actual "block" melee strike that way or is it only possible to place those tokens on cards that do have a recharge number in the top right of the card?

Yes, it's valid. He's taking too much time, waiting for the perfect moment to attack.

Delays can suck, but they should just as much as exertion does.

Yep, that is a completely valid scenario.

Its not that he cannot take an action. He can 'perform a stunt' or 'assess the situation' or just take up a 'defensive stance'. Not attacking every round is ok, especially if he's being very conservative and looking for that perfect opening. He'll probably end up less stabbified that way too.
