River Blockade

I am wondering what counts as "triggered by an opponent." Does that mean just things triggered by opponents cards, such as "when you reveal a plot card, draw a card", or does it refer to things that are literally triggered by the opponent, like tapping locations for reduced card costs, et cetera? I often forget that my opponent has this card in play, and then go to pay for a card, or give some character strength or something by tapping one of my lands...I am wondering what exactly this card cancels.

Thanks in advance.

Seriously, though, "triggered by an opponent" only applies to triggered effects. Something like Golden Tooth Mines ("When you reveal a plot card, draw a card") is passive. It happens whether the player wants it to or not, so you cannot say that the player triggers it. Only effects that the player chooses to initiate are triggered effects. Often, that involves paying a cost by kneeling the location, but not necessarily.

"Tapping"? "One of my lands?" Time to switch terminology, don't you think? lengua.gif

I do seem to have some remnants of MTG vernacular. Fortunately, it does seem to be fading away. :)

Thanks, that helps clear things up. I like River Blockade. I think that it is well designed and really contributes to the Greyjoy feel/mechanic.
