London AGoT Meet - Sat 6 Nov 2010. Who wants to play what

By The Magus2, in 3. AGoT Organized Play

Hi all

After the Melee fest that was the last meet I was wondering whether people would like to continue with the very informal approach that we had or arrange a more structured and competitive afternoon. Chris and I were talking and the possibility of a Swiss tournament for either Joust or Melee which we could organise. I'm happy to bring down my netbook to track score and pairings.

Your thoughts, please...

Also, if anyone new wants to come down to learn or play informally please post - I wouldn't want you to feel excluded if we do decide to do something competitive. I'd be happy to sit out and teach the game to newcomers (having been truly annihilated by Chris and LoneWanderer in our last melee).

I personally think more of the same as we can get an idea of interest first then if we make this a regular thing, have it next time a joust tourney then the time after that a melee day and have it like that on rotation maybe?

It seems like we could be getting about 12 people this time so 3 4ways on the go, that if you wanted could be made into a tourney thing based on power earned in each game, with an hour and a half limit?

I just think that again if this is going to be regular thing then melee's are a nice way of getting to know someone.

Now that I've settled in with uni, I'm almost certainly coming. I've just picked up a copy of Kings of the Storm and am putting together a Baratheon deck. I'll bring both that and my Stark Tully Deck along. I've never played in a 4-way melee before (msot of my games have been jousts or 3-way melees), so I'm definitely up for a 4way :)

I predict a LOT of baratheon decks will show up next meet, probably including myself!

I'll probably bring Greyjoy again, but will take out the winter so everyone doesn't hate me. But yes, I like the idea of alternating the meets between joust tournaments and melee ones.

Hey guys,

As I mentioned last time, I am fine with casual melee. But a melee tourney will have to be without me, as a) I have had bad experience with them in the past and b) I prefer joust anyway :P But I will happilly come along anyway. That way Magus can play in the melee and I can teach the newcomers.

Also, we have to create a meta before next year as I don't want to be the only englishman in Stahleck again :P

Personally, I'm keen to just have another session of casual melee games.

Theyr'e good ways to get to know people, don't punish players who can't build super-competitive decks, and give new folk (like me) the chance to see a lot of different cards in action.

I'm fairly easy on the tournament idea; would take part if somebody wants to run it, but more than happy to just keep it casual for the time being.

Hey guys, myself and Andra are still planning on coming down and will be happy with what ever is decided. We only ever get to play jousts between ourselves so melee was very enjoyable for a change, however I will be bring 2 decks this time so I can play in what ever is decided.

Kalindas I was speaking to Andra about this myself that it would be great to travel out with a group of people to one of europes tournaments together. Cool to hear you went, how did you fair?

Looking forward to catching up with all on the 6th.

OK - more of the same - I'll stick Summoning Season in my plot deck. I'm developing a new archetype - It'll be called Baratheon Crawl.

Great News about Brighton and Bath being represented.
