Into the Storm gives us the Child of Dynasty as a Homeworld option that occupies the same slot as Noble Born. I have a player considering a Navigator character, and he's interested in the Child of Dynasty as an alternate to Noble Born. Fluff-wise, Child of Dynasty seems pretty set to be for members of a RT's Dynasty, but does it do a fair job of representing being born into a Navigator clan? Should I nudge him towards Noble Born instead?
Child of Dynasty for Navigators?
Yes it makes sens and would make a great plot hook but just make sure not to over shadow all the other players.
For a Navigator it seems best for either a Navigator line that has been bonded to a Rogue Trader Dynasty for millennia and whose fortunes have risen and fallen alongside the Dynasty, or a Navigator house who are powerful merchants in their own right, but who lack vast fixed estates.
There is no problem with taking the child of dynasty as a Navigator as I see it.
How about a navigator who's been trained from birth for service with rogue trader clans? RTs are eccentric and demand a certain caliber of associate.
I'm really asking for what Homeworld is best representative of being brought up within the Novis Nobilite. Noble Born seems to work, but mechanically-speaking Child of Dynasty seems even better and the fluff could be reworked to fit.

Void-Born, Noble-Born or Child of Dynasty each mechanically fit, depending on your Noble House.
