Expanded Origin and Warrant and Ship Origin Path Handout

By Zorajit, in Rogue Trader

Has anyone made, or can we expect to see a printable version of the new Origin and Ship Origin paths, ala the core rulebook printout?

I'll ask Sam if FFG could make a PDF of the expanded Origin Path, and the Ship Origins. Those would be pretty useful happy.gif

A PDF of a warrant of trade would be cool to have as a hand out also.

Since all Warrants of Trade are different, you can't really do a proper PDF of one. Plus, releasing a PDF of one would cheapen the Warrants of Trade given out with the Rogue Trader Collecter's Edition.

I've e-mailed Sam about it, so now all we can do is sit and see if anything comes of it happy.gif

Hopefully, if it is released as a PDF, it'll have the corrections from the most recent errata.

I fail to see how a pdf of a warrant of trade would cheapen anything. Not everyone could just plop down all that money for a CE. Would I have liked one? Sure, but I had to wait because I had bills to pay. If a pdf of the warrant makes a fan have more fun, and expands the customer base thus selling more $50 FFG books, then I would have to say profit overrides the sentimental value of the CE. Besides, did the fact the CE had errata cheapen it any?

You can always make your own. I know that sounds glib, but I don't mean it to be!

I've seen some really nice fan-made warrants. And in the canon, not all warrants are the same. The ones that went out with the CE are all alike, really, apart from the variants in the names of the Rogue Traders, but Into the Storm makes it clear that there are all sorts of different kinds of "issuing authorities" for warrants of trade.

For example, my CE Warrant is from the High Lords of Terra. Your dynasty might have an ancient warrant signed by the Emperor, or a Primarch, or a more recent one signed by Marius Hax.

There's a lot to be said for creating a Warrant of Trade that fits in with the expanded Into the Storm background rules: perhaps your warrant was issued during Goge Vandire's reign of blood, and is literally bloodstained. Perhaps your warrant is a priceless relic, a tattered fragment kept behind glass like a Dead Sea Scroll. This sort of thing can really make a handout the players will treat with some respect, and can add tremendously to a campaign.

While a PDF of the CE Warrant of trade might appeal to some, I think making your own that fits in with your dynasty's backgrouns is a better option...
