Need More Monsters and PC Standups...

By wraith428, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

So I'm demoing Black Fire Pass for my game group on Thursday. I'm prepping the adventure and am sad to discover...

a) I own every WHFRP 3E product out there and still don't have enough orc standups to field the 3 orcs plus Gnashruk. Nor enough dwarves for the dwarven rangers (if needed).

b) There aren't even enough dwarf standups to field the four dwarf PC's.

I like this game but seriously this situation needs to be improved upon asap.

What have other people used as proxies? I'm thinking of digging into my D&D minis.

Later,

We used some of the other standups even though they were not dwarfs. As long everyone knows who is who it doesn't really matter what they look like. We try to focus on the story and action. not the minis :) They are just there to disable any confusion about positions.

As consololation I think you can expect more dwarf standups (and beat me if there won't be a few orc standups as well) in the upcoming Black Fire pass expansion coming out next summer. Its a long wait but they will come.

i bit the bullet and picked up a second core set got a sweet deal on ebay..£35 ...thats helped but your right its still not enough...

I think that in the Small But Viciuous Seminar Jay said something about that, and that they don't want to supply the players with multiple Standups for one creature but with one Standup for a large variety of creatures. And he mentioned something that it's recommended to use tracking tokens for the second and third creature of the same kind. Because, as someone said before, the Standups are supposed to be used to manage ranges and stuff, not to create a miniature scene.

Thats all well and goodm but you're also supposed to use tracking tokens to represent the relative range between standups. Confusing much?

Not that much confusing if you use tokens of different colour, but still: you have a point.
