When you pick a character class and go to the point of purchasing skills are the skills on your card free to train? Also, can you also train any of the basic skills listed on the character sheet as well?

you do not get the skills for free only a few carrers get free skills aprentes wizards get a few.

as far as training basic skills you can buy 1 training square in all basic skills,not exiting your skill points. and only 1 point becouse you can only train the same skill 1ns per caracter rank

You can only train the skills listed on your career card.

For example, if you're playing a Smuggler. When you create him, you can ONLY train Skulduggery, Stealth, Guile, Intimidate and Ride (I think that's all of Smugglers skills?). You can NOT, for example, train Weapon Skill.

One other point that i had to check out .... if you have a starting skill that is advanced i.e Education.

• For 1 skill point, you can aquire the skill. Write it on your character sheet and you can now use that skill.
• For an additional skill point, you can train in the skill. Tick the box next to where you wrote it in above, and remember to use a yellow dice when you use that skill.

So it costs a total of 2 skill points to get trained in an advanced skill from your career card for a starting character.
