Deluxe Expansion reprints?

By Trask2, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Hi all,

Back at the beginning of the year, I remember FFG announcing their new format for LCG's, that being there would be 3 copies of specific cards per pack. I've noticed on a couple of the deluxe expansion descriptions, they explicity state that is their format, namely Kings of the Storm, and Lords of Winter. Is it worth holding out to buy the other deluxe expansions until they too are released in that format, or will they remain as they are?

Thanks very much

FFG has never said they would reprint any of the older stuff in the 3x format.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiitng for the Martells or Greyjoys to be re-released in that fashion.

Don't see Kings of the Sea and Princes of the Sun as the deluxe expansion for Greyjoy or Martell, see those as their core set.

Most likely they will get their own 3 of expansions after the Lannister and Targaryen's get their treatment.

Kings of the Sea has been announced for reprint with a status of "Updated" on FFG's "Upcoming" page (see links at top of page). However, they have not said anything about the "update" being the 3-copy format. The Core Set is also listed as "Updated" and the chances are very slim that it will move to 3 copies of everything, so at this point, everyone's guess is as good as everyone else's.

Thanks for the responses guys. Togtamish, your answer makes a lot of sense. I might go get princes of the sun, very keen to get a martell deck together.

Thanks very much all.

I would like to see a deluxe expansion for Greyjoy and Martell... but I just have this weird feeling that it isn't likely to happen.

If not it is going to put both of them behind the curve in regard to number of cards... and sure an argument can be made that they are not weaker card power wise, lack of cards equals lack of options and lack of options does translate into an inability to make multiple deck types and possible solutions to problems.

HOPEFULLY someone with some say in this reads this and connects the dots.

I see no reason why they would not get one.

Is it worth it buying the two expansions 3 times? are there one-off cards in there that u really need 3 times?

The Martell box comes with 2x of each card so unless you were really needing 3x of some cards I'd say you should be able to get away with only buying it once. Since the Greyjoy only comes with 1x of each card I'd say buying a second copy of it would really help if you want a good greyjoy deck.

I have only bought two of Kings of the Sea which is fine and one of Martell, if you wanted a play set of Martell would only need to buy 2 of them.

I agree that GJ and Martell would need a deluxe expansion each. Power is just as important as diversity (or choice in this case) and they will be behind the curve like you say in that department if not for a deluxe expansion.
