How to "teach" descent

By Mcmanus, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi, Im about to start a new/first campaign of SoB, 2 of the players have already played Descent, not the other 2 though. So I was wondering if there is a tooltip page/forum whatever so he can read about the rules.

Thank you!!

I'd highly recommend running through the first quest in the base game before starting then. Sure it will push the start of the campaign a whole session out, but for brand new players to jump right into a very long campaign that is very unforgiving for the heroes in the beginning (and rather overwhelming in rules and items and bits etc) without any knowledge of the game can ruin their experience and fun so much that they may not want to continue playing...

I agree with the previous post. I'm going to start a campaign soon. I just got Tomb of Ice, which none of us have used before. The 4 experienced players tried out the new characters and 3 of the 4 chosen performed differently than expected. To shorten what I'm trying to say. An experienced player would pick a different character than a starting player. Even if the experience playing is one adventure. Push it back a hair and run them through at least 1 adventure first. Most people point to board game geek for in depth articles, but can't say for certain that an intro article is there.

Yeah I think I ll do that but not with the first one, as all of em are "clever gammers". Pity anyway there is nothing out there to "teach" ^^.

Thank you=)
