So my fellow friends have noticed the hero generator and I was wondering if there was a OL generator. I will be up next in line for OL and they have decided to developing their own characters. I think this will be fun but after seeing the first character I am beginning to think twice.
Generator
If you're talking about the official build-your-own-hero rules, I don't recommend using them. They're restrictive, cumbersome, and not particularly balanced.
I recommend my hero generator for "vanilla" Descent, but it might have some serious imbalances if you're playing an advanced campaign (RtL/SoB).

+1
Antistone did an excellent job balancing everything. I haven't noticed anything that would be totally imbalanced for the advanced campaign. At least not any more than some of the published hero abilites.
Antistone's Hero Generator is far better than the official one, although it's not like the official one is unusable.
As a side note, if you let your players choose their characters, they'll be at great advantage, especially if they build them (there are a few killer combo, and be sure they'll be aiming at them). You should have each of them randomply pick three character, then choose one of them.

I am not surprised you are thinking twice. It is bad enough if you let them pick from the official heroes (the rules say draw three and pick one and unlike vanilla, don't also say that if the OL agrees heroes players can pick their own heroes.
Further, as others have mentioned, the official document is flawed, unbalanced and internally inconsistent. It is definitely inadvisable to let the heroe players make their heroes from that.
ANtistone's generator will make excellent heroes if you aim at the 360 score. They won't be quite as powerful as the very best official heroes, but they should be solid quality and all at or slightly above the average official hero.
I would suggest you (and/or your hero players) make a pool of about 24 heroes using Antistones Generator, fairly evenly balanced between melee, ranged, magic and running. I would further suggest you post them in the Home Brews section their for commentary, stating specifically that they are for Advanced Camapigns. Some of the pricings are probaby not quite right for ACs, but you will be able to get some opinions from that.
As for custom OLs there are some very well done ones in
this
thread in the homebrew section.
(Elric also tried some recently, but without meaning any disrespect, I was uncomfortable enough with them that I didn't even try to comment. The ones in the above thread, at least in their final variants, just have a more reasonable 'feel' to them, even though I can't say exactly why. But that is only my personal opinion, and I am hesitant to even start with the objective reasons why).
