Some questions

Skills - There are 4 checkboxes for skills on the character sheet. I understand that all skills are considered either Basic, or Advanced skills. Basic skills we can roll even if we are untrained, instead using only half our attribute. While Advanced skills we cannot roll untrained.

1) What does the Basic checkbox do? Is the Basic checkbox there to denote skills that are Basic skills?

2) Does that mean that the Trained checkbox is there to denote skills that are Advanced skills that you have training in? I don't understand how this works for Basic skills like Dodge. Do I have to become Trained in Dodge? Is that why we can purchase it in the General Advances on page 60?

3) Do I ever fill in the Basic boxes for Advanced skills?

Weapons - In the tabletop game, it was basically unheard of for a single marine to carry multiple main weapons. Tactical squads brought along a dude carrying a missile launcher, and that guy left his bolter back at base.

3) Can my marines requisition a second weapon, like a missile launcher?

4) How should he carry it? I'm thinking that the Techmarine may have to rig a maglock for him to pop it on his backpack or something, as walking around with it in your off-hand seems a little silly.

1) Yes.

2) If a skill is a Basic Skill, it means that you can use it without being Trained, but only at half the Characteristic level you have. EG. You have Dodge as a Basic Skill. You have Agility 50. If you are Trained in Dodge, you have to roll 50 or under (assuming no modifiers). If you are not trained, you have to roll 25 or under. Advanced Skills, on the other hand, can only be used if you are Trained, you can't even attempt to use them if you are not Trained.

3) Only if the book gives you a talent, or whatever, that says to do so.

4) Yep, you can have multiple weapons.

5) That is the main limiter on what weapons you can take. It's not about how many weapons you can carry weight-wise, it's how many weapons you can actually carry on your person.
