Requisition Confusion

By Edsel62, in Deathwatch

The rules for determining Requisition Points are completely chaotic…

On page 273 the first sentence under Setting Requisition seems to imply that Requistion Points are set per marine. Later the boxed text “Pooling Requisition” seems to imply that the points are assigned to the Kill-Team as a whole and then divided equally among them. On the following page (p 274) the example clearly indicates that the points are figured per marine.

So which it is? Are the calculated points assigned to each marine or is the total assigned to the group as a whole and then divided between them?

Adding to the confusion is the Requisition section of the GM screen advenure “Shadow of Madness.” On page 7 under Arming And Oathtaking.

For example, the first objective is called a Primary Objective and also a Skilled Objective. Can it be both? According to the core rules a Primary Objective is worth 20 Req Points and a Skilled Objective is worth 5 Req Points. The value given in “Shadow of Madness” is 17 Req points???

By the Emperor this makes no sense. sorpresa.gif

Additional evidence is on page 138... it states that the mission requisition points is per Battle Brother (50 for a simple mission, 200 for a complicated one) and that's how I am going to run it in my first few scenarios. Perhaps one should write down a possible load-out for one's KT as a GM in preparation (taking renown into account) and then reverse engineer the desired requisition rating from there.

Remember, also, that their standard kit is not part of the requisition. Also, in the example on page 139, the two pool their unspent requisition points to get the devastator a lascannon instead of the heavy bolter.

I submitted this question, and judging from past experiences I should get a response in a day or two.

I believe points are given to each individual.

They then spend the points as they see fit.

If an individual has more points than they need they can share their points with any other people in the group to get everyone extra equipment or get one person significantly better equipment.

I am now 99% certain now that the the Requisition points are "per marine."

I can see how some adjustments might need to be made for large groups. For instance my group has seven players. A starting group getting only 50 RP each (for Final Sanction) means that the group starts with 350. They will likely have a hard time spending all those points since everyone has no Renown.

I have six marines and a female player running an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor. I will have to come up with a suitable standard kit for her. Perhaps Sororitas style power armor and maybe a force field too since she will be frailer than the Astartes. After that I will assign her RP and Renown just like the marines as per the suggestion in the core rules book.
