Got my Troops Packs!

They came in the mail yesterday (it's the wee hours of Saturday hear now), due to other games haven't bean able to get in any play time with them yet. I'm impressed by the Union pack but Reich feels like more of the same, not that that's a bad thing, but they could have given them something more than the HtH overkill they've had since the Core Box.

Holy Heck I just used the same By-line for my E-mail notifaction I sent out to my mates, after mine arrived in the post this afternoon.

For Union players all I can say is "Fire Makes All Things Good!!", the rest of the new additions will give less developed Union players a more level playing field

For the Riech, Isn't the Serial Killer hard enough to kill alredy? and the Reich HtH stick is getting a bit overdone without spreading it to the Stormie, also it re-enforces the basic Reich Tactics and opens few new play variations for them.

Where to put the Books & Cards? after Ramirez the Card Bay is over full in my Core Box and the Token Bays are just about full, the Minies Bay still has some space. I'm trying to keep Novgorod for the Matriachy

When is the Matriachy Bot pack coming? I half expect after their new Hero.

As for Troop Pack 2 for Union I expect it to be a pair of Commando Omega HtH experts and am at a loss for what will be in the Reich Troop Pack 2, Blusturm Agents perhaps?

About the Union troop pack, the AN-M11 token. I found the rules a little fuzzy on this one. So anyone standing in the path gets 3 automatic hits? Trying to leave the path you take dmg for every circle you step on? Could someone please give me a hand on the specifics of that token.

We were a little confused by this as well, until we get an official FAQ, we played it as you only took damage entering a "burning" circle, and not on the M11s "detonation".

This prevents it from killing every character on a path, which could possiably cross the entie map.

That seems overpowered, like the Kalii being both an automatic weapon and a "grenade launcher."

That's what I was thinking of doing as well, not assuming just taking it as they explained. Thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure if i understood you well but it's true that Kalii is automatic but it only iflicts 3 automatic sucesses and you don't roll any aditional die. Attack just places meteops.

M11 inflicts damage only upon entering fiery circle, it's in the rules.

as for the low HtH damgade for Reich, it's true for example for Yula, she is somewhat weaker but Stosstrupen is really strong wit HtH, in most cases he rolls 6 dice and with the new pack he can have up to 7 die attack with quite big movement speed, I find him quite destructive.

Technicly speaking that's not what the rules say, the Kalii has the "Automatic" Trait which Page 21 of the Revised Rules clearly states you roll five dice for an attack.

If your only supposed to place a Meteop token then the "Automatic" Trait should be deleted.

Traits are more then just fluff text, and greater attention will have to be paid to them as the game evolves.

One last thing, the picture of Voronin clearly shows her with a Meteop in hand propably preparing to load the Kalii, which has no magazine of any kind; suggesting that it is far from an automatic weapon.

Automatic trait is also used to fix Minimum Range just like Pisto l & Heavy . Min Range should have bean changed to Pistol , Longarm & Support or Heavy with the revised edition with Automatic Trait bean used for other things.

As to speculation on Troops Pack II for each faction? for the Union I'm hoping for a Commando Omega Double Pack to give the Union some HtH abilities. for the Reich perhaps a Shocktruppen double pack being a mid range fighter with Armor & Grenades. For the Russians well once they've given us the new Bots perhaps some actual Troops?

remember the old rules heavy weapons had to shoot 4 spaces away. Auto 3 spaces, hand guns 2 spaces away.

Exactly, keep Minimum Ranges but have the Automatic trait refer to Rate of Fire related abilities and a other set of traits to Minimum Range.
