Bad answers and how to avoid them

By Morffe, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I’ve noticed that some answers like ”its an rpg invent your own rules! or you’re the GM you decide! or houserule it!” might not be the best answers to give when someone ask for rules assistance or even lore assistance.
If someone has taken the trouble to post something that he or she is wondering about, at least give a fair answer. And it would be fair to assume that the individual in question, has already been through the whole notion of “inventing, deciding or houseruling it” before posting. They want REAL answers. And keep insisting on those easy answers above can frustrate anyone looking for genuine help.

Following these three easy steps to avoid things from flaring up.
1) Avoid using easy answers, if you can’t really help, don’t answer.
2) If you still want to write, include advices, suggestions or point out where help could be obtained.
3) Don’t be afraid that you might give wrong answers. Probability of that someone will quickly point out your errors are about 100% on most internet forums.

good gaming.

An attempt to give answers that do not rely on the "easy answers" like "just houserule it", "just make something up" or "you're the GM, you decide". Albeit in a given situation they can be helpful if adressing unexperienced gamers.

I've seen you give a ton of REAL answers, that provides insight, sound advices, and examples. gui%C3%B1o.gif
