Never ending post ....

By Thebigjul, in Deathwatch

Hi everybody.

First of all i must apologise for my poor mastery of the english language.

Now I can go to the point.

Lots of topics here deals about usefull things, but some other are just useless and in fact quite boring. Maybe would it be better to ask senible question.

I explain.

Topics about female SM are sterile yes there's, no there isn't, yes there's, no I said...etc... Quite boring.

If you wanna play female SM do it don't ask about us, it is your game. Yes there's no female SM in the warhammer 40K fluff so if you play by the rules there will be none. But nobody tells you what you have to o with your life at home.

Same about the topics made around the fact that their SM can wear a jump pack (and fly, no not jump... fly), to heavy bolters with all bonuses possible, shoot with each in full-auto mode...etc... Also boring.

You want to play this do it but please don't ask us what we think about it.

we are here to construct a game world, make it better andtry to help each others for the best, not talk about subject that will never give any result. Ask for rules tips or house rules, but please once more don't ask us what we think.

Play, have fun, enjoy your games, they are here for our enjoyment.

Hehe...All this did was feed the trolls. And now this will be the neverending post...

The point of having a forum is to share ideas. Yes, it can be frustrating when people end up talking in circles. But the huge threads about nothing are outnumbered by the short threads where questions get answered and people have fun and whatnot. Most of all, if I know I'm not going to like a thread I don't have to read it.

There is a decent point to be made in this thread though, even if the OP didn't say it.

Everything has a place on the forums.

Those that want to discuss rules questions should be able to post in a "Rules" section and get their answers. Other topics can each go into their own defined sections.

I'm not entirely sure why FFG's has not divided up the Deathwatch Forums like DH and RT, especially since the game has officially released.

I agree with SpawnoChaos, even if I find the original post to be somewhat distasteful. Maybe everyone should have to fill in a questionnaire before they are allowed to join? Too many points at which you diverge from the party line and you're refused?

Isn't that in and of itself trolling?

On my own behalf, and as above, I don't agree with the sentiment in the original post. If you don't want to read a post, then don't read it. It helps if the title offers some indication as to what is included in the thread. For example, I didn't expect to see a "I'm not interested in your discussion posts, finding them boring." I'm not quite sure what I did expect, but certainly not some rant about the purported superiority of one thread over another.

Also, isn't this thread disallowed under your own "rules?"

For all the people I have offended with my post I want to make you my apologies.

My point was just about topics where players and GM alike are being under assault from people who didn't see the game in the same way.

We bought the game to play with it and no more, everybody making what he feels good for his game.

In RPG all is possible and that's why we play it.

I'm offended by a lot of people answering rudely to others.

What I was trying to said is to be objective in our comment and not make them personnal issue.

I believe the purpose of a discussion forum is for the presentation of differing opinions and approaches? After all, the forum would otherwise just be an exchange of page references and figuring out just how much one could post before you broke copyright limitations.
