Requisitioning Cybernetics

By HappyDaze, in Deathwatch

It appears that cybernetics are paid for with Requisition and it's a one-time payment. Doesn't this make cybernetics a good long-term investment for a character that can't find another use for his Requisition? Sure, it's expensive, but getting a Bionic Arm adds +2 Toughness for hits to that limb, and Bionic Locomotion appears to replace both legs for a +2 Toughness to hits to either leg. These seem to be good long-term investments, but perhaps I'm missing something.

Also, in cases where Requisition is multiplied by either x0.5 or x1.5, do you round the value up, round down, or not round (retaining the value after the decimal). I didn't see anything on it, so for now I'm going to go without rounding.

As far as rounding goes if it follows the same logic as DH and RT you round up.

Most chapters see bionics as replacments rather than voluntary (Iron Hand spring to mind as an exception) so I would say that although a good investment in mechanic terms, in character it would not be such an obvious choice.

Just my thoughts

Good long term requisition yea, though if you take a critical hit to that bionic leg, unless there's a tech priest in the party it could leave you pretty screwed. partido_risa.gif

Actually the paragraph on cybernetics says the requisition cost is given for consistency purpose only. It says normally you only get issued cybernetics as a replacement for lost limb and that would be without requisition cost.
