Combat: Galactica and Nukes

By Belisarius, in Battlestar Galactica

Two combat questions:

1) If a "destroyed + 3 raiders" result comes up when using a nuke, are heavy raiders considered "raiders" for this result?

2) Can the Galactica target raiders with its weapons control location? Since it says "ship," and not "basestar" I assume it can.

Since the term "heavy raider" is spelled out in lots of other places, I'm pretty sure it's just raiders. Otherwise it would say "3 raiders or heavy raiders"

I believe not - a few other similar questions have come up in my exploration of the forums, and in each case it was stated that "Raider" never refers to "Heavy Raiders",

I believe so, however in light of the toughness of base-stars it seems a more economical use of resources to engage the basestars and heavy raiders with the Galactica, and the raiders with Vipers,

I agree...but we had a situation where we'd toasted the basestar and were cleaning up the raiders; just wanted to know if we could blast them with the Galactica, too.

Yes you can. Galactica's weapons can target any cylon ship, same as vipers can.
