The only scenarios here on the FFG Site are great, but printing 3-4 pages plain green/grey/black is the pure horror for my printer and the ink is very expensive...are there printer friendly versions of the scenarios??

None that I know of, sorry.

I made a few printer-friendly versions of both, official and user-created scenarios, using a pdf editor.
