New to this game have the core set have a few minor questions.

First off thanks for anyone who can help me answer these few questions.

1. If i attack someone for 3 damage and assign 1 damage to a 1 life blocker and 2 to the capitol, and that player plays a card that gives him 1 hammer and me -1 hammer does he get to choose to take the damage off of his unit or just 1 of the 3 damage is assigned by the attacker?

2. we have played quite a few games already and it seems like by far the dwarves have the best deck. then possibly even second best empire and sometimes orcs will do really well too. but most of the games it seems that chaos isn't terribly good, and depending on the cards the orcs don't always perform either. Is this mainly true all the time? is there something we're doing wrong? its not terribly unbalanced but i think by far the dwarves are overpowered. they have the best support cards like the healing 1 damage from the capital per turn, the card that makes enemy units cost 1 more to play, the card that makes attackers lose 1 hammer if they dont spend 1 resource, rediculous heroes and many tuoghness units.

^ this is not complaining as i love the game, but im wondering if others agree with this as well or not? if so how to balance it more often than not. We like ti play 2v2 also and it feels sometimes that the two better decks are on 1 team. we're getting the two elven decks tomorrow im hoping that might help balance the game a little more.

Any pointers on how to use the decks better would be appreciated and i will be looking on these forums as well. Again thanks for any of the responses and help you guys give me. im not a vet at this kind of game but me and friends are really enjoying it.

#1: After damage has been assigned, he can play 3x tactic giving you -1 power each (essentially dropping you to 0P), damage has been assigned and will get applied as assigned. Changing hammers only works before assigning damage (in combat).

#2: What sets do you have? My stats have Dwarves at the bottom, though moving up since adding the two BPs from the new cycle. Chaos tops my all-time list for win-loss, tied with DElves since adding Assault on Ulthuan. Been using mono-faction decks since the get-go. Healing 1 dmg from capital per turn doesn't help the Dwarves at all if the zone burns in one go.

I only have the core set at the moment i just wanted to try the game out. so we have played with the decks how they came, and adding the neutral cards in randomly to each deck. we also tried shuffling the dwarf/empire together and orc/chaos together, and splitting them in half just for fun. We are VERY casual on the idea that we arent looking to build unbeatable decks, we are mainly trying to balance the decks to we can have each person play a race and feel powerful and have a fair chance.

Again we are getting the expansion that has the DE/HE decks in it.

Also find it weird that your chaos win alot although you have more expansions than we do.Here is how each race feels like to us atm.

-Right now we feel like chaos is supposed to corrupt units to do more damage and stuff, but they barely have cards to corrupt units with at all. also lack of very good units besides a few cards.

-dwarves have alot of toughness which is so hard to push through, and have alot of great support cards. almost every game they came out on top by far.

-orks either have a great rush push, or run out of steam fast. i see on posts that orc rush is huge but i dont think we have the amount of cards to make that (also we dont want to make one deck overpowered.)

-empire sometimes doesnt do well, but they have so many units g/support going out all the time, they almost always have the most resources/cards drawn.

Do I need more expansions before i can choose to add/take out cards in decks to balance them better? again i dont feel that its really unbalanced but we all agree dwarves are the best, and so far chaos the worst. (obviously depending on what your starting hand is might change that, but that is luck not how the deck plays in a longer game.)

Actually, Chaos started the weakest back in the Core Set only days, but soon raced out to a lead and has been the top deck since, even before I started adding BPs. Dwarves in the Core Set barely have any meaningful Toughness (Hammerer, Iron Breaker and Kazzy), BPs add a ton of Toughness, both in terms of units and supports granting Toughness. My building approach is the same, I have a deck for each faction that I've been tweaking slowly to make them all balanced, HElves and Dwarves are currently dragging up the rear.
