Closing gates/ Sealing gates

By player1054569, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I just picked this game up, and I'm going through the learning process right now. I've found some very helpful guides, and the 11 part walkthrough videos. I have a question regarding closing and sealing gates though. I realize that once you return from the other world to the gate, it can be closed, but if the investigator leaves before closing it he would have to re-enter again.

1) If the investigator gets a successful roll and closes the gate, but does not have an elder sign, or the five clue tokens needed to seal it, can another investigator that does have the necessary items come to the space and seal it for him?

2) if the gate has been closed and taken as a gate trophy, but not sealed, if I understand right, a new gate could still pop up from this same location later in the game?

Thanks for any help with this, as so far these are the two things which are kinda puzzling me at the moment....

Be aware that you can do the following:

Player A comes out of the Other World and gets an explored token. Player B, who has an Elder Sign, moves onto the same space as Player A, gives him the Elder Sign, then moves off the space (to avoid getting sucked through in the Arkham Encounters phase). Can't trade clues though, so it only works with an Elder Sign.

Or clue producing objects like Tomes.

Even if you stay on the location you wont get sucked through the gate providing that the player closing it has their Arkham Encounters phase before your own.

Where are those videos you were talking about?

I'd assume these videos

What? I can't trade Tomes that produce clues? That's new to me... I had Rita once trying to understand the King in Yellow for half the game until she gave it to Marie, who got the clues in one turn.

He was saying you can trade tomes.

It's not necessary that player B moves away. Having moved later than player A, player A will play his AE Phase before Player B. So, Player A seals the gate with the Elder Sign, and then player B has a normal encounter at the location. No sucking through. Unless Player B draws a "a gate and a monster appears" encounter and the AO is Atlach-Nacha...
