Deathwatch is Shipping Now!

By FFG Ross Watson, in Deathwatch

This is good news. And to quote one of my favorite RTS games; "hell, it's about time." happy.gif

My FLGS reports they are picking it up from their distributor tomorrow AM. I'll be there by noon!

Tell that to Amazon.

Or Maelstrom for that matter.

I'm sure that Amazon received a massive amount of pre-order cancellations. I know I did. ^^

Ditto.

Getting mine from the UK now.

Cancelled with Amazon, picking it up from my local guys at an inflated price :)

cancelled amazon, ordered from gameslore, was shipped yesterday, I should have it today!!!!

Dito, canceled mine too (and let me stress that I like FFG's strategy of providing small FLGS first a lot ).

Besides this shipping now is old news, it has been shipping in the updated section for way over a week. This reads a lot like placeholder news because they haven't had news on Deathwatch for quite some days and they probably felt compelled to put some news out.

Beyond that my copy should be in today's mail, so much for in stores soon. Probably they mean by that in all kinds of stores, including amazon.

Ah, it's all good.

Alex

ok,

do you know if and when the PDF version is available?

thanks in advance

Unknown. Last time the issue came up the general consensus was 2 or 3 months after the physical release.

The pdf needs to come out soon hopefully in a months time also those of us that have purchased the collectors edition should get a free download of the pdf so we have something to use while we are waiting for our copy to turn up and also so we don't have to user our expensive collectors edition.

Please be generous FFG gran_risa.gif

Mine's in at my FLGS. Will be dropping by momentarily to pick it up! gran_risa.gif

Given that "Into the Storm" has already been released in PDF format (it just hits stores end of August / early September), hopefully we'll see DW in PDF in a similar time frame.

As much as I'd love to see a free copy of the PDF for those who purchased the CE edition, I suspect that if it were in the works, it would have been communicated as part of the CE package/offering. Out of curiousity, did FFG ever do something similar for other CE releases?

Got my copy + GMs kit!

Had a few minutes over the lunch hour to look it over. This is going to be FUN!

Into the Storm, Deathwatch and the GM Kit have all shipped!

W00t!

And I'm on leave from work next week when it'll arrive and it's my Birthday next week. Talk about timing! partido_risa.gif

I guess we CE people have to wait 7-8 weeks, right? :)

No it wan't done for the last version but then the pdf for RT wasn't released until sometime after the book came out even after the collectors edition i just hope that considering the fact that this version of the DW CE is much more expensive than the last one to the tune of $100 for those of us in the UK.

I would hope that in the case of customer loyality and given the fact that this will be the final main rule book for all total collections unless FFG think up some other cool idea we people who are prepared to spend alot of money in advance and given the fact that a pdf version would cost nothing for FFG to give us a free version this is something they would at least consider (unless the accountants see this message first and have a heart attack FREE nothing is FREE in this world gran_risa.gif ).

Living in Australia, I'm guessing Im going to have to wait a while to see it at my games store.

Where an early pdf release would be nice, you have to understand the reasons for not doing it. The ease of copyright infringement with an indexed high quality pdf would harm their book sales. You have to make a profit to keep putting out these nice books.

Tam

So we can start the 8-10 week countdown for the CE as of right now?

Then don't wait. Order it from overseas.

Mine shipped yesterday.

Mine's arrived! Woohooo! Got it last night. Sadly I was drunk, so I haven't really absorbed very much of it yet. Ordered it through Orc's Nest in London, they tend to get FFG stuff out very fast these days.

Well said, Tam. Personally, I am against them releasing a pdf.

Hello everyone! I'm a long time lurker and first time poster.

Just got an email from Amazon saying it should be in my hands Monday!

They have already said "no" to the idea of free PDFs for people who ordered the CE version of Deathwatch. They've been asked quite a few times about it.
