How is this hand gesture? I'd rather do the gesture myself, than describe it to my players, but I have no clue how.
Any pointers?

I've no idea in canon but myself picture it as a truncated "sign of the cross" - basically a "sign of the T", sketched with first two fingers held together..

Can't say where I've seen this description (perhaps in a novel?) but it rings a bell.
Also, you've got the sign of the comet; index and middle finger in a V, palm inward. Often used as a sign of defiance or a curse toward unholy things. Again, this has been described, but I don't remember the source.
v1's Shadows over Bogenhafen has a priest of Sigmar making the two-fingered palm forward salute (like the Chuchillian victory sign) as a sign of the twin-tailed comet.
iirc the sign of the 'T' and the sign of the comet are both in v2's ToS.
here's Valten, in his Exalted form, making the symbol:
Aaaaaaccttuuallyyy that looks more like the "we'll cut your archery fingers off" salute that was given to longbow men and later just became a universal f'off.
Af far as I remember the sign of Sigmar is more the two fingers palm out allowing you to also put the fingers in front of your face with your eye in the gap between the two tails which is a ward against the evil eye if I don't remember wrong.
cultists of sigmar have two salutes or gestures if you like. The first is the "V" finger salute, representing the twin-tailed comet as shown on the picture.
the second sign is a ward, and involves making a hammer shape on the trunk. Forefinger touches the navel. the "V" of the collarbone, the right chest, and the left chest, (similar to crossing yourself).
Good gaming

Well informed and backing it up with visual cues, on the internet... The world has come to an end ![]()
ahh. It looks like John Travolta dancing in Pulp Fiction. Those Simars are sooo cool!

I believe the gesture worked both ways. Archers would wave their fingers (palm inward) to the enemy as if to say, "Hey, we've still got them! Come and get them!"
I assume Valten is taunting the enemy with that gesture.
To be honest, I don't believe GW would have modeled one of the most significant Empire figures, in two versions (both on horse and on foot) no less, giving some emeny archers "the finger". If you look closely you can see that his hand is slightly tilted, like a twin tailed comet about to come crashing down from the sky onto Sigmar's foes. I'd say he's probably doing that to Archaon across the battlefield. But hey, it's just one guy's opinion. I could be wrong.
