Dunwich Horror Doom Track roll confusion

By meanmunkee, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Ok...I'm confused. I'm clear on rolling a die for when The Dunwich Horror needs to move (and possibly add doom tokens). What I'm NOT clear on is why it even says "On a 4-6 add a doom token to the doom track" when on its Herald Sheet it says "add a doom token...on a 3-6".

Wouldn't it ALWAYS be a roll of a 3-6 since you can't EVER put the Dunwich Horror in play UNLESS it was the herald? When would you ever be rolling a 4-6 on this bad boy??

If anyone can clear this up, that would be most helpful! Thanks guys!

The standard version of the Dunwich Horror always participates in the game if you're playing with the DH expansion; it is not optional. The herald simply modifes the creature.(I don't remember there being a herald that actually affects the Dunwich Horror; then again, I haven't played with heralds much; gotta check that out)

The Dunwich Horror Herald can be downloaded from here. It was never released in any expansion, but it's an official Herald nonethell, available to all players for free download
