Gland Warrior (Into the Storm)

By Santiago, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

Hi,

One of my Pc's is going to become a Gland Warrior in a short while, I kind of forced and had one of the other characters make the IC choice for him.
The question I have is regarding their Lostok Implants.

The organ filter away any chemical by-products so no tests have to be made for adhere effects, does this mean they don't get any of the negative side effect or only with the slaught drug?

The wording implies that the implants will prevent any side-effects that require a test to occur, so that would prevent the negatives of Slaught.

On the other hand, other drugs such as Stimm (which automatically apply a penalty after use) would seem to be unaffected.

i remenber that in the fluff in a obscure part that this warior die quickly due to the overuse of drugs. they have short life pan.

they do not feel the side efefct but it kill them quickly.

for me the player don't have the penalities while "on the rush" but the penalities increase after the rush scessions of game after scessions of game until well it becomes a eversor like soldier. the kind that you can't play because he just throw dice.

well just my thougt

The character is now under the influence of a drug called Rage to which he was forced to become addicted (he was tied down and they kept injecting him), this makes him realy short tempered.
The doc told him he wouldn't be able to kick it and live, so our less than legal Seneschal came up with the gland warrior solution and decided for the AM in question this would be the best choice, in the meanwhile he is ordered to take a diluted version of rage to keep him up and running.

The Seneschal in my group is a self rightious bastard with little sense of morals but totally loyal to the Rogue Trader, the perfect Seneschal

Still have a few sessions to decide what to do exactly...perhaps I'll half the penalties

Perhaps you could allow the Gland Warrior to make another self-generated drug attempt to keep their current dosage going. That way they could prevent the side-effects for longer or until their implants are overloaded.

whats kick him? to be a god of war? why not proposing him the cybernetic option? he will have the rush of combat with less side effect.

Because the party Seneschal srewed him over and is literally forcing him to walk this route.
The player happens to like the way its turning out...

@Khouri, like the idea, perhaps he'll need replacement parts, have him roll toughness tests, his organs might shut down...
