Rules you play by when beating enemies becomes far too easy.

So, what rules do you apply when it gets to the point in a really long game where someone or several players are beating enemies far to easily? We add a die but I think we are starting that too late as it doesn't seem to create any more challege for a decent period of time.

How do you guys play it?

For years my group have had played that you get no experience points for an "automatic" (ie; no dice roll needed) victory. That stops the mindless topping up that seems to occur late in games.

We don't implement any new rule for this situation.

As Dam said if you're that strong, you should be going for the Inner Region and the crown or alternative ending; you shouldn't be dinking around in the outer regions. If you are, in my group, you're probably doing it for a reason (eg to power up further to be able to defeat someone else you're likely to meet there). No additional rule needed in our opinion.
