Deathwatch, even more than DH/RT, really suits giving your PCs unlabelled maps for adventures. So can we please get downloadable, unlabelled versions for the adventures in the Core Book and GM Kit? Pretty please?
Map handouts
It would also be great if the talented artists that produce these things can produce a tutorial so that the lesser-talented (artists) could follow in their footsteps and produce similar materials for their own games.

While my plea was actually more directed at FFG (who already have the original art), I'd happily take community created versions.

I will make more maps and handouts as i get my hands on the books, here are some of the inquisitorial, imperial and deathwatch dataslates i made for the Final sanction img441.imageshack.us/g/solarsons.jpg/
Those are awesome, do you have any English versions by any chance?
I can make the english ones if the demand is high enough. I actually started with the english versions, but my players lobbied me into making german versions for them
Updated the album with an english version of Sollar&Sons Promethium works
Just to say the ones you currently have up look awesome
I'd like to see English versions. Me and my group are all mono-linguistic Americans (one is studying Japanese). I suppose I could try and con them into thinking that they are written in
High Gothic
though...
In the case of the adventure maps in the Core book, the labels don't really give too much away. I actually feel in some cases it is alright for the squad to have numerical labels next to target of priority, since they might have tactical data on them. That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to unlabeled maps as downloads in the support section.
Also, I'm sure many of my fellow GMs have already done this, but I've found that scanning the maps and printing them on 110 lb. cardstock give them a really nice rigidity. The extra texture and character of the paper really seems to engage the players when you hand the map over to them.
Added the english versions of the mission objectives and Avalos dataslates for Final sanction. Enjoy. To lazy to convert the Lordsholm map right now, to many layers involved, have to redo the original cartographer file as well.
Thanks for the handouts.
Yes thank you! Those of us less talented appreciate it. I have no qualms about giving my group a labeled map - with thier technology wouldn't they have that information about a technologically advanced "Friendly" city?

More maps here.

Wonderful.
Speaking of OE, how do you plan to run it? Substitute all the stats of enemies with the real stats from the core rulebook, I suppose?
Alex
Unfortunately i do not have the rulebook yet, as soon as i get it, i will substitute everything by full rules, besides Oblivions Edge seems to be designed with the availability of the rulebook in mind, some references, like substitue Demolitions Use with Intellegence if running with Final Sanction characters and so on, point to it.
First Dataslate for Oblivions Edge is ready, i will post more in the album soon img820.imageshack.us/g/operationfirebreak.jpg/
These are fantastic. Thanks for sharing them!
Any idea how to improve those ? What have you guys liked/disliked ? I think i will finish another few tomorrow.
Overall I really like the look of them. My main criticisms would be just layout detailing.
As a graphic designer I have a rather sharp eye for these. ^^
As i said, overal a very good job but just in acse you want to crank them up that extra notch:
-Margins: make sure they're the same on left and right. Not always easy when trying to fit large amounts of text but it will increase the 'balance'.
-consistent positions and distances for titles, subtitles, bullet points etc etc
-The lines on the zoom-in on the dam are a bit clumsy. i'd make them just a tad thinner and have them neatly connect to the border of the pics, perhaps introduce a slight outline to the edge of the pics. (but keep the glow, that really suits the datapads.
-The B&W pics, perhaps brighten them ever so slightly to make then stand a bit more apart from the background.
But as I said, this is just nitpicking with another blast from the Spice Weasel. They're looking the bizz.
Glad someone noticed the glitch in the zoom lines on the dam, i missed those due to transparency settings, and noticed those myself while working on the text already
was too lazy to backtrack and correct it
The brightness of the pictures is intended for the most part, as i am trying to make it look like the dataslates are old and faulty.
One thing which continues to bother me is the visibility of the script, it really degrades during conversions, but at leas my players get the crispier ones. As for the consistency in layout, i am still playing around with it, trying to figure out the best positions, paragraph sizes and formating for the text.
I am also considering of scrapping the Dataslate outer area completely and just construct three slate variants i use (Deathwatch, Inquisitorial, Imperial) and give the players just the screen area, to slide in. Could save a lot of printer ink
True, handouts like that do eat up a lot of ink.
That's why I'm keeping my eye open for when the windows tablet PC's come out and I'm going to buy one. ('cuz iPads are sh*tepads)
High-tech handouts here we come!
Or you could use a laptop if you have one.
I use it as a GM screen
I got terribly lazy in that regard, dice rolling, notes, background music, tables, all the visuals......it is hardly Pen&Paper for me anymore, but at least my players still do everything ye good olde way, including handouts
