Is there a real print of that fictional book besides Shin Tzu Art of War?
Codex Astartes
Not that I have ever seen in "full form". There are bits and pieces of it scattered through the various Codex: Space Marine books published by GW as well as various other sources (The Index Astartes I through IV come to mind off hand). The Index Astartes V1 contains an article entitled "Codex Astartes: The Holy Tome of the Space Marines" but once again it only talks about the Codex giving the reader highlights and theory rather than any actual information about the "hard facts" as it were. In the most recent incarnation of Codex: Space Marines, each unit entry is actually preceded by the "official thought" that Guilliman had concerning that particular aspect of Space Marine and how it should be utilized to achieve victory. Finally, there was a Black Library Production known as Insignium Astartes which was a beautiful book detailing unit and vehicle markings, color and meanings and chapter organizations. Between the three of these sources you can get a pretty good idea as to the content of the tome.
While I use some precepts of Sun Tzu to portray Space Marines that players in my Dark Heresy campaign have encountered, I also use elements from Hagakure.
"When one has made the decision to kill a person, even if it will be very difficult by advancing straight ahead, it will not do to think about doing it in a long, roundabout way. One's heart may slacken, he may miss his chance and by and large there will be no success. The Way of the Samurai [space Marine] is one of immediacy, and it is best to dash in headlong. [And bring death to those who would oppose the Emperor of Mankind].
Hope this helps a little
I do like the thought behind that quote, very effectively describes a space marine

I get the impression from the fluff that there are volumes upon volumes, not just one individual book. It is supposed be a combination of the UCMJ (The U.S. Military's Uniform Code of Military Justice), Table of Organization, uniform regulations, training, and tactical, strategic, and opporational doctrines all rolled into one. You are NOT going to fit that all in one book.

Given that this is 40K, then I would actually EXPECT for it to all be included in one HUGE tome. Preferably with purity seals, hundreds of book ribbons placed throughout, and a MASSIVE metal binding to hold it all together that locks the book tight as a drum. You can only open it by pressing your thumb on the Imperial Aquila symbol in the center, and it confirms your DNA as being part of the sacred order of the Adeptus Astartes, thereby unlocking the tome.
Frankly, I'm rather surprised that they haven't printed one for IRL yet... given the Imperial Infantrymans Uplifting Primer.
I would TOTALLY buy the Codex Astartes if they printed it.

I just got an idea for the bestest power weapon ever. . .
The Codex Astartes hits you for 97.M41 damage.
You die.
It is entirely possible that one day a "Codex Astartes" will be published. This could be something of a collector's item (just like the Deathwatch Collector's Edition), with special design, or could be part of the print on demand line of BL. Maybe to commemorate some anniversary. I would also buy that book and i think that every fan of the Space Marines would do it.
looks at my Liber Chaotica Complete edition... Well who said Space Marines fan only?

Take Von Clausewitz and do numerous edit/replaces and there you would have it. Just the right flavour of tactics as well.

From what i understand of fluff its supposed to cover every concievbale tacitcal and stratigec situation a marine would ever find themselves in.....there is no way you could fit every situation into one book i more imagine its like an ecyclopida or a library of knowledge.....like the library at west point or something of the such.

Is everyone here underestimating the ridiculous nature of the 40K universe? I mean, c'mon... we've accepted feeding the Emperor 1,000 psykers a day to keep him sustained and the Astronomicon powered... we've accepted the Ork weapons work because they believe that they should... we've accepted far far worse in this setting to be stopped by something as simple as "Oh, there's NO WAY that would all fit in one book... let's be realistic"
