[RULES] Multiplayer rules by Le Cenacle Chthonien

By Dadajef, in CoC General Discussion

Hi guys,

you can download the unofficial rules to play with 3 or 4 players realized by Le Cenacle. You are not playing a team against another team, you are alone against the other 2 or 3 players. It's a good way to play when you are 3 players, you can play together and keep the same feeling as a dual game. It's also a nice alternative for multiplayer's tournaments.

English rule (pdf 1,41 Mo)

French rule (pdf 1,42 Mo)

These rules are BRILLIANT, Dadajef, thanks for posting them. And the graphic layout is clear and concise and unambiguous. Very nicely done.

Those clever Frenchmen responsible for creating, testing, and displaying these multiplayer rules should be proud of their work.

Chick

Indeed, we're really proud, chicklewis !

Hope everybody will enjoy those rules, playtested during the French Nationals ! We had great fun and Dadajeff took the whole project in hands, putting the ideas onto papers ! Thanks to him.

Now, we are working on another rule, based on a 4 player game which will be designed so every player will have a role to play.

Stay Tuned to have news !

We gave it a try, and it works great!

Congratulations for your idea!

the link doesnt work.

is this only in my case, or for all ?

No problems, the two versions works. Have you try to download the file (right click > save under) and open it ?

iwas able to download and save it.

however, when i click on the link above, it doesnt open correctly, all o get is a white screen.

If you can download and open the pdf file directly with your pdf reader, the problem comes from your internet browser and/or adobe reader plugin.

A current problem is with some version of adobe reader and the firefox internet browser. It depends also how is fast (or slow) your internet connexion.

If you are using Firefox and Adobe reader, try to configure Adobe reader like this :

Open Adobe Reader > click the Edit menu in the menu bar, then click Preferences... The Preferences window will open.
>> In the Categories section, click on Internet.
Make sure the first check box "Display PDF in browser" is checked but uncheck the two other check box (to not authorize fast internet display).

I have made some test with IE 8, Firefox 3.6 or Opera 10, on mac, windows xp and vista, with adobe reader 9 and all is fine.

Or just install Foxit Reader which is much lighter and faster than Adobe Acrobat and much less problematic.

Edit: You could also just save the link target instead of opening it in the browser.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Nice work at making a fun, but balanced set of rules for multiplayer.

Now all I need to do is to coerce...I mean persuade some of my friends into playing.

Great to see you've enjoyed it !!

Hope to post the stuffs we're working onto in a nearby futur (multiplayer + roleplay) !

Now, _that_ sounds intriguing!

P.S.: Having had the opportunity to test your multi-player rules at Stahleck I have to say they're really fun. It makes for a slightly longer game with the outcome being undecided until very late into the game since you can 'gang up' on the leading player.
