Im starting a new game, higher then normal powered, and was wondering how I would go about designing a Chain Scythe like the 1 that the Matriacrh uses in the Necromunda Spyrer gang, any suggestions?
How would I make the Spyrer Matriarch's Chain Scythe from Necromunda in DH?
Best Quality
Great Weapon
Mono Edged
Chain Weapon (or) Lathe quality.
There is a power scythe listed in the House of Dust and Ash adventure.
Can you really mono-edge a chain weapon?

Mon Edged is a bit of a misnomer, its just an Upgrade of generic sorts, when applied to a bladed item it's Mono, when given to a different type of melee weapon, say for example a hammer, it gets the pnuematic quality which doesnt really exist but does the same as Mono quality.
Its a Q that gets asked once in a while.
Well, this once, and its been a while.

"Mono" is in the upgrades section of the main rulebook.
Given the penetration and description of Chain Weapons, I've always thought that it was implied that the teeth were already mono-edged. However, it doesn't explicitly say that so that's not a problem. What is a problem is this specific part of the errata:
The Mono upgrade on page 142 should read “Upgrades:
Any primitive close combat weapon.”
That pretty clearly makes mono-chain weapons illegal.

Aye, it's implied that they are already mono-edged, and as you say, you can't apply mono to chain weapons.
Kinda thought so.

there is a very old topic about mono. teh probleme with lathe is that itrequire a rare source and the probleme of the mono is that each blade of the chain must be mono. good luck and good bank.
Remember all, per the v.3.0 Errata, the mono upgrade and lathe forging are mutually exclusive to each other.

If you want to stat a Chain Scythe then I would suggest you start with the Eviscerator in the Inquisitor's Handbook on page 187. Tweak it some and I think you've about got it.
