Silly question, but for some reason I am not sure of the answer.

Situation:

Monster located in location A and a player moves into location A. Player does not want to fight monster and succeeds on a sneak check. For whatever reason player stays in location A and has an event there. Now if the monsters movement symbol is called during mythos phase, does it attempt to attack the player again? Also lets say the player remains in the location next turn, does the monster attempt to attack the player again or only when the player leaves the location? If it does attack the player again, during which phase?

Just wanted to know what the rules were for this situation.

The monster does not attack in the mythos phase, nor does it move. Monsters do not move from investigators. In the movement phase, an investigator will have to evade or fight any monsters on their location. Aside from specific instances generated by other cards such as encounters, this is the only time combat with monsters can occur.

- Monsters don't attack, unless a specific card of whatever kind describes something else.

- Monsters don't move away from investigators.

- When the character does not move in the next round, this should be considered as ending his movement in the same location with the monster, therefore the investigator is entitled to evade, or fight again.

Huge help! We were just going with the house rule that if a player ran to the black cave, where a monster was and evaded him he could stay hidden in the cave or bushes etc and just not come out... but then again who knows how these monsters can track you down... stupid star vampire...!

Right, you have to make the evade check each round, even if you're not leaving the space. This is to signify that you're trying to remain hidden from the Star Vampire.
