Tourney of Stahleck 2010 - WHI Nations Cup

By thorondor, in Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

for the first time there is going to be a Nations Cup also for WHI this year at the Tourney of Stahleck.

for the rules have a look at the homepage www.eaglecard.org/tourneyofstahleck/

this thread helps to organize this special tourney.

if you want to participate and have a team, please leave a posting here with a team name and the names of the team members.

if you want to play but your team is incomplete, say so here and check the candidates.

if you want to play and dont have a team yet, offer your service here.

Two French players are looking for a third player. A French speaker would be a natural candidate but we will accept anyone who does not mind losing. The odds are that we will finish last but it will nevertheless not be as bad as our national football team in South Africa!

some pointed out that there might be some deck-building loopholes in the nations cup rules.

so i made one small change:

At least 50% of the cards of each deck must be matching with the capital board.

for the complete rules go to

www.eaglecard.org/tourneyofstahleck/invasion.html

Wow, that is big. I understand the notion behind it, but now a deck running a lot of neutral cards may get into trouble as well :)

Not that it is a bad thing, but RBT decks are pretty much done now.

I like the rule. Do aliances match with capital boards, or are they considered neutral?

this single card (RBT) was exactly the problem.

i dont want to impose to many restrictions. will make it too complicated and take away the fun. but this one was necessarry imo.

so no problem with neutrals (we are likely to see lots of skavens i guess).

there are 2 faction symbols and they count for loyalty, so they are definately matching.

We dont have a Teamname yet, but: Zukar, BeardFan, jogo will play together.

I'm sorry, but I am not sure i fully understand this rule. So...

Do neutral cards count to the limit? Ex. in a 50 card deck can I play 20 that match the board and 20 neutrals?

Effect:

If yes, then RBT would not be THAT troubled and at least 1 can easily be built. IF no, then no RBT can be played without some serious weaking and skaven would be damned as well.

I dont really care (maybe am in favor of the second rule) but we would definately like to know.

thanks

this new rule does not afffect any neutrals.

so given you play a 50 card deck, you have to put at least 25 capital-matching cards into the deck. the rest doesnt matter at all.

of course one can still play bolt thrower. thats okay so (though i dont like it). but it will be hard to play bolt thrower with all 3 order-boards.

lets look at this rule also as a sort of principle: when using a capitol board, you are representing a race. so that race should be prominent in your deck.

Dont take me wrong, I definately am in support of this rule, i Just wanted it to be clear .)

I got confused by your remark about skaven going rampant where i believe, that a proper skaven deck doesnt use 50% of either orc or DE cards. It has a majority of neutral cards (I havent done any counting now, but i believe it be so)

howdy there,

Team Lusos

Pedro Castro

Ricardo Batista

Pedro Vasconcelos

If you would answer why posts on HDS, yes. :)

Hi guys,

we are two players from Italy looking for the third player....

We should be a team of 4 so if there would be a team in need of a third player, one of us may join them :)

So is this still going to be in effect now that RBT got nerfed? Is it even necessary?

I think this rule of minimum half of the cards must be the same race as the capital wasn't only about the RBT. There are lots of Skavencards already. One could build a almost only skavendeck and use it for all three destruction boards. This would be lame in my eyes. The idea is to have all six races represented in all teams.

That's good! We are happy to join us with some of you guys...let's talk in Stahleck for all the details regarding capital boards and decks...

P.s. Where are u from?

We are from the Czech republic :)

I am not sure i can speak for all my friends, but English shouldnt be a problem

Wonderful...it will be great!

If you do not mind playing with 2 French people, please feel free to join!

Greeting fellows,

my best friend Stubi and me are also still looking for a third member of our austrian (or maybe part austrian) team. The only thing we demand of you is that you are motivated or motivatable to win. Playing and deckbuilding skills are overrated. What we need is fun playing and confidence in our success.

We also have a stylish idea about some kind of corporate identity for our team. ;)

@ Gollum: if there won't show up two players to fill our teams, we could join forces for a french-austrian alliance. :-)
