Road to Legend Questions

By Woerth, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hopefully none of these are explained in the FAQ. :)

#1. When ambushed and the hero has a sleep token, can they use the order dodge? Sleep states that they cannot use movement points or attack.

#2. When can the heroes attack a LT.? The rules state "If the heroes end their movement in the same area as a Lieutenant, they may attack that Lieutenant. Tbe FAQ states, "Q: Must a lieutanant or the hero party end their movement on the same location to attack eachother? A: No."

Does this mean that the Heroes can attack a Lieutanant any time they are in the same location? So, if the OL moves a Lieutanant into the same location as the party, chooses not to attack. Can the party then choose to attack the Lieutanant before they move off the location for their week's turn?

Also, just curious, what is a good ratio for OL to Heroes conquest? Right now we are at OL: 51, Heroes: 64

Thanks,

Brian

Technically yes. Many people house rule this.

The FAQ is saying (poorly) that the heroes don't have to move (and therefore "end movement") in the same location as a lieutenant in order to attack. They have to be in the same location, but they can stay still that week if they want.

Does this mean that the Heroes can attack a Lieutanant any time they are in the same location? So, if the OL moves a Lieutanant into the same location as the party, chooses not to attack. Can the party then choose to attack the Lieutanant before they move off the location for their week's turn?

They can attack, but doing so means they don't get to move afterwards.

That looks ok, though I'd usually expect the OL to be ahead in copper rather than behind.

Thanks! As far as the conquest goes, its been a bit tough with this group as the OL. Admittedly this is the first time we have played things, but they have a good group combination going. They have two "tanks" and two "range". One of the tanks is Tahlia who has swift. The main range has spiritwalker. The other tank has leadership. So Tahlia runs up, get a guard for the other tank. Then the range blasts stuff through Tahlia, then Tahlia attacks and runs back. So in general 2 or 3 things are dead before I get a shot and I usually don't have any targets on my turn. They would rather leave the dungeon than risk one of them dying.

They usually only hit the first or second level of a dungeon. They have only done one dungeon all 3 levels. So killing characters has been very rough. I am playing the Demon Prince with the ascension plot line. I have razed one city. They chase me out of the city before I can roll to raze it. The players can deal a lot of damage in one turn, so I run away with my LTs rather than risk them dying (learned my lesson after they killed one of the LTs.)

Thanks again for the help!

Brian

If they're fleeing a lot of dungeons then they must be taking multiple weeks to travel to the next one. Start putting a lot of map pressure on. The three Farrows + your personal lieutenant (if available) can force them to let cities fall if they want to keep blitzing.
