Played my first game tonight!!!

By daddystabz, in DungeonQuest

I played earlier with my girlfriend and her 12 year old son. I was the first to get eliminated after falling victim to a bottomless pit while using Lindel. Jennifer's son, Dylan, drew a card where he had to succeed at a luck check or lose his turn each turn. He was stuck with this card for the vast majority of the game and only at the very ends of the sun dial did he escape only to not make it out before dawn and thus he fell victim to the dragon. Jennifer did the best, defeating 2 monsters in combat and looting over 1,500 in loot and getting back out of the dungeon safely. She never tried to make it to the middle area where the dragon's hoard was because I was already dead and her son was stuck due to the card he pulled. She won easily.

All in all I had a blast and I think they did too. I cannot wait to play again!

One quick question: My girlfriend drew a card during the game that looks almost just like the rotating room card but it appears to be a staircase. I could not find any explanation for this card in the instruction booklet. Does it serve some purpose? Can you descend down it into the catacombs?

Compare the color of the arrow.

What significance does the color of the arrow have again?

This same thing came up in the forums at BoardGameGeek.com. It is a black/brown arrow, which only the catacomb room entrances have. It is not a rotating room, which would have a blue arrow. The room is only round because it is a spiral staircase.
