The "Shrug it Off" action card.

By k7e9, in WFRP Rules Questions

I have a question about the Shrug it Off action card (a slayer card). Why is the recharge time 0, when the special text states that "when you are hit by an attack, you may add 5 recharge tokens to this card..."? Is there something I've overlooked, because to me it feels like the card might as well have a recharge time of 5 and not have the "add 5 recharge tokens to this card" text on the card.

Is it possible to add 5 new recharge tokens if you get attacked before the card is recharged?

Seems like an error to me. Sounds like the card should have a recharge of 5 not 0. Some other cards that have a recharge rating also state the recharge in the text so having both isn't unheard of.

That's what I thought too, just wanted to make sure so I can tell my Slayer player that I've asked about it. He (and I) wated to know if it was possible to add more recharge tokens to the card befor it was fully refreshed.

Thanks for the input. happy.gif

The card isnt' wrong there are some other cards that work like this (spells IIR). Having tokens on it is a good thing and there may be ways to add more tokens to it by the player. Functionally yes it's the same as having recharge 5 on it. I think the difference is more for style.

But the Shrug it Off card is more like an active defence. It's a one shot boost to soak, so it's not a good thing to have recharge tokens on since you'll want to use it as often as you can.

Possibly for some later addition to the rules? Maybe there will be some effects that will work off the recharge rating of action cards, so in this case while it has 5 tokens placed on it it counts as a 0 recharge rating card.

Or, as already suggested, it might be a simple mistake.
