Lucky spree

By Draii, in Talisman

Just wanted to share a little episode from yesterdays game;

In my experience it's always the new players who wins.
This is nice since the new players might feel that the game was fun, and easy to understand, since they managed to win.
But yesterdays game was like nothing I've seen before.

We where four players; I played the Sprite, a player with two games behind her played the Vampiress and later the Highlander when the Vampiress met the basilisk. And finally two new players who played the Amazon and the Minstrel.

After some good hours noone was the obvious leading character but the Amazon felt that a daring charge towards the Crown of Command was in order.
Only thing was; he only had 5 in strength and craft, and only one life left.
With some pure luck he managed to open the Portal of power and rolled three "1" when facing the first obstacle at the strength-path. Equally lucky he bested Death with some good dice-rolls, but now he had the wherewolf in front of him.
Meanwhile another player pulled a card (don't remember the name of it now) that prevented all characters to lose any life in battle for two full rounds) so when the the Amazon clashed with the Wherewolf (who sadly only got 3 in strength) he could ignore his first defeat, and slew the beast the second round.
Thus he scaled the stairs to the Crown and the suprise ending....who was the Ice Queen who annihilated him as soon he showed his face up there.
But I never though that he would make it that far with 5 strength and 1 life.
The game was won by the other new player, the Minstrel, as she was the last one standing when the other of us met our fate against the Goblin king and a "lose life" in the Temple.

Good game indeed =)

Glad you had a fun game.

We had 5 of us playing last night and had an epic one.

One player died to the "rolling doubles" on the Basilisk, first time we had that happen, hilarious! I don't know if you all laugh whilst playing, we sure do.

Death moved more in that game than we've ever seen, and was sent back and forth a few times by timely rolls of "5".

Just gotta love this wonderful game.
