Show us your WHFRP 3e tabletop

By henrysamwise, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I'd love to see pictures of your WHFRP 3e game in action. Specifically, I'd like to see how your groups displays and organizes the various components at the table.

I would like to design my own pocket pages for use in WHFRP 3e, with different sized pockets for the various sized cards in the game... but I literally have no idea where to start. Can anyone offer suggestions?

For the small cards, you can use buisiness cards holders pages - very easy to find and perfect for the size.

Found these on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009R8YL/ref=oss_product - perfect for career-sized sheets. As for the small cards I just used the standard trading card plastic sheet holders and cut each pocket in half and taped the bottom of the newly cut pocket to keep the card in place. This allows for each standard pocket to hold two small cards. I do like the idea of the business card holder though, I'm going to look those up.

Nest time we play I'll try to snap some pics of the setup.

I have all of the cards in the page protectors for reviewing them, but in play there are no sleeves. For the smaller cards, I just double them up as opposed to buying different sized sheets or cutting the sheets.

Ok, I hate to see you all struggle with organizing your cards so I'll repost this:

1. Put your stuff into photo album pages already! Action Cards go in standard card album pages. Small cards go in business card album pages. "Sheets" such as career sheets go in 4x5 inch print preserver album pages. Sorting cards "magic the addiction-style" is not an efficient way to handle your stuff. Save the "card sleeves" for when you loan out a card to a player (plus you can see when you're missing a card from your album pages. I also keep a print-out of the card lists so I can reference.

2. Here's the company to order from (cheapest): www.archivalusa.com/

ACTION CARDS: www.archivalusa.com/1209hb.html 2.5X3.5" Negative/Wallet Print Preservers (25 Pages). You can also stack your talent cards vertically if you so choose. I prefer business card holders though.

And a might big Thank You to you my friend. Been meaning to do this =)

P.S. I just finished making the "Winds of Change" adventure for MapTools and will be posting it later today on Gitzman's Gallery. Its super cool.

Yep those 4X5 preservers are the same ones I posted about earlier in this thread, they are awesome!

As an alternative to business card sleeves, I use 20 pocket/page coin pages. Here's a pic:

Coin pages

They let about 1/4 inch of card poke out the top, but it saves *tons* of space compared to the 10/page bizcard holders. You can get 'em from a lot pf places, but Amazon seems a likely spot...

Thanks for the sleeve ideas. I never thought on that.. I'll have to get some in the coming weeks then.

It's tiny, but you get the idea.

Since this pic was taken, I've purchased the GM kit and now use a screen to hide notes, challenge die rolls etc.

Blue glass beads are used to represent fortune points. The grid lines are pretty much ignored in favor of WH's more abstract range system and 3d objects (i.e. trees) can be "engaged" with for tactical purposes (i.e. cover).

I like the sleeves in the 3-ring binders (3" thick box-like) from that photo/card web store.

My concern from what i read there would be the number of binders needed for the Core Set, GM's & Adventurer's kit, Winds of Magic, Signs of Faith, TGS, EoN and future releases (Monster's Vault, Khorne's future box at least). From what they say, in the 3" thick binder box-style i like, you can have 35 filled sleeves or 100 empty (for photo things). While for Career cards it sounds fine (25 sleeves x4 slots = 100 career cards), for action cards and Talent/CareerSpeciality, i'm starting to count a few binders.

How many binders do you have for all the collection (and still having extra room for future content) ?

an ingame photo ! from last winter

Now I use the official GM Screen... Customed with the usual fanmade GM screen pannel + the usual basic action card complete sheet

Yeah, that's my concern (the number of binders/pages needed as time goes on). I was pricing out enough to support just what I have in the current products line and I think it'll be about $50 to buy enough pocket pages from Amazon.

For reference, I'm debating putting them all in sleeves, then copying the pages. I'll keep the full binders for actual game play/use for myself and the players to pull from, but something thinner to keep available seems like a good idea.

I know they'll be in the guide books, but I'm still on the fence about the retail cost these will have (or waiting to buy via Amazon whenever they come back into stock after they've oversold their preorders).

I'm pretty content with keeping the various cards and counters in these little boxes I got from a craft store. My big worry are character stands. I don't have a good way of looking at them quickly during a game. Most of the cards are either decks that are random (and thus have their own box), or the action cards which only have to come out when spending advances. So most of them don't have to be searched through during the game.

But finding the right character stands when you weren't expecting it seems daunting to me.

Then it occured to me (after all this talk of card sleeves) that there must be sleeves suitable for these. Some of us of a certain age might remember 35mm photo slides, we use to keep our in these pages of sleeves to organize them. I bet the smaller character stand would fit in them you could glance through them quickly and expand them by just adding new sheets. Of course, I don't know if anyone even makes them anymore.
