When a player draws an event that last more than one turn, we leave the card in the space, occupying that space until the effect ends, i.e., if somebody lands in the same space where the event is, it counts as a "card in the space" for the "draw card" purpose. I don't know why we do this. Can you, Talisman gurus, help me?
Events that last many turns
You play it right
Those event cards still count as a card for that space.
With blizard for example, nothing happens when you land on it for the second time.
I have to write several words to say you:Thanks!! Because the silly forum post length control...
Strange. Because that's not how we play it. When an event that lasts a number of rounds beyond the one it was drawn is drawn, we place it in the middle of the board and leave it there until it expires. It seems just silly to leave something like "Howl of the Wendigo" on the space it was drawn.

I did the same. But some quasi-official sources on here (i.e. Elliot) suggested to leave the card on the space.
my friends and i dont count it towards "cards in the space" we place it in the middle of the board and typically use gold as counters equal to the rounds/turns it lasts. if its the blizzard or pestilence with the "counts as a card you draw" mentallity then it should count for every space in the region.
Not that this is correct but we've been playing that the card stays in front of the player who drew it. We use a die on top of it to track the number of rounds. The player who drew the card keeps track of counting down the rounds and announces to the table when the condition ends.
The only issue I see with this is that the card is not attached to the space and players are free to encounter another card. My group is okay with that.
Events that persist usually state at the end that they go to the discard pile after the effect has finished. For example Blizzard says:
"For two rounds, all characters, nor matter what Region they are in, may only move one space per turn. The Blizzard then abates to the discard pile."
So it stays in the space for two full rounds and then gets discarded.
