Psycannon Bolts and Telekinetics

By Snigglefritz, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Hi there, all. I've been running a DH campaign for a couple months now, and have a question about the Telekinetic power called, I think, "Catch Projectiles."

Do the special properties of psycannon bolts allow it to bypass all Psy effects? As in, does the psycannon bolt ignore an attempt at a Telekinetic's "Catch Projectiles" use?

I voted "no" on this, because the text on psycannon bolts specifically mentioned defenses like shields, but I can see an argument that Catch Projectiles is just a different type of shield. Any ideas here? I'm especially interested in hearing about how psycannon bolts are described in other WH40K sources -- are they proof positive against all things foul and warpy/psykery?

Many thanks! --Skip

The description of the power sounds pretty shield-like to me.

Here's the response I received when I posted this question to the folks at FFG:

"Technically, Psycannon ammunition is a Bolter round that is psychically charged it is not "immune" to other psychic powers. However, the description for the item in Inquisitors Handbook states that psychic defenses do not work on them, so technically no, Catch Projectiles would not work on them."
