*sung to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville *
Sipping for thirst to slake
Watchin the Dhole take
All of those citizens under the soil
Constantly shaking
In my shoes quaking
Smell those guys they're beginnin to boil
Chorus:
Goin' insane again in margaritaville
Searching for my lost belief in God
Some people claim that there's a Worrrrrm toooooo blaaaaaame
But I know....it's Cthulhu's fault....
Great pic. I cant wait to order a few prints of some of the past work when my funds are more stable.
Alternate title:
"Vengeance of the Tequila Worm"
LOL! Although in my intentions he was drinking some moonshine, but really, who knows what went into that brew? ;-)
I thought the worm was supposed to go in the bottle?
Cool artwork.
I LOVE THIS PIC! I will have this as my wallpaper for a while! I actually love this card too, because the flavor text made me laugh out loud: "One thing was for sure. He'd never drink again."
Like many other Mythos artists, you are very good at "grotesque", but your realistic style really makes that cthonian-y thing POP. This would be a great picture for 3D tech.
looks great. if only i could figure a way to do this with other cards and make it look good...
I think what impresses me most about his Call of Cthulhu paintings is the lighting and the shadows made manifest. Its very reminiscent of the lighting effects used in some better horror films to evoke uncomfortable dread. Its a very clean, realistic approach that draws the viewer in to explore the fantasy he portrays with closer inspection. The drunk has stitching on the back of his coat for crying out loud. The monster's tentacles are clearly inspired by a sea anemone and such a touch adds to the suspension of disbelief. Clearly, there are morbid matters afoot. Its almost a shame to shrink the art down to such small dimension on the cards.
I doubt you can chalk it off to the artist's style, because his Song of Ice and Fire art doesn't utilize such dramatic lighting as much as the Call of Cthulhu art. He has a good toolbox.
I am not aware of how much of a hand that Zoe Robinson plays in the direction of the pieces, but she should be thanked for keeping Tiziano busy. I am obviously a fan.
Zoe should contract Mr. Baracchi to make a series of Domain cards.
Nice work Tiziano!
You obviously 'get it'.
Hope to see many more of your dark visions
included in this game.
