Is Day/Night important?

By White Phoenix, in CoC General Discussion

So I just picked up the CoC core set and I am trying to decide where to buy in for the monthly packs. I have been a long time aGoT player and when they introduced the Summer/Winter mechanics it became very important to consider running these seasonal traits. What I am wondering is how important is Day/Night? Is it recieving continual support as the packs come out? Or should I skip it for now and only worry about it if I decide to build a dedicated deck for Day or Night? Thanks.

Currently there just does not seem to be enough Day or Night stuff to really do much with. The new story deck added some Day/Night stories and they are continuing to build Day/Night cards, but really there aren't a lot of people building dedicated Day or Night decks. Shub players have some decent fast characters that suffer to Day or become better at Night, but really that's about it.

The lack of Day/Night decks could actually serve a player who tries to build around that mechanic. I just played my first game with a mono-Agency deck with a focus on making it Day. When Day cards come out my whole team gets much more powerful, and if the other player has neglected Night, or the entire mechanic, the struggle icon beatdowns get pretty brutal. But ya, I guess if you commit to a Day/Night deck like the one I have described you lose flexibility, and some may not find that a good trade.

It's possible to build a deck around the mechanic (especially if you play the old CCG cards) but at present I think the LCG format day/night is more side concern at the moment than something to seriously build a deck around.
