So I am getting ready to run a Dark Heresy game, and with the upcoming release of Deathwatch I was thinking of trying an experiment. Throughout the Legacy it suggests that there are ties between the night traveller and the slaugth. So I was thinking of expanding and modifiying the trilogy a little.
The players will make dark heresy and rogue trader characters. The first adventure for the characters will be a modified version of maggots in the meat, however they have orders not to directly engage any xenos that are discovered. Once they discover indications of the slaugth they will contact the ship in orbit. During some point in the adventure, the slaugth will begin participating in the combat, and the rogue trader ship will be engaged in orbit (probably will just be background information at the moment.) The players will then take over the space marines and they will participate in a modified version of Final sanction, and the space marines will rescue their DH characters.
Following this adventure. The characters will go through Damned Cities to introduce the Haarlock's legacy. probably followed by tattered fates and/or House of Dust and Ashes.
After this I would like to have the adventure move into the Kronos Expanse to follow in Haarlock's footsteps in how he gathered his forces to attack his family. During the adventures in the Kronos Expanse the characters will participate in various adventures that pertain to the different skill sets of DH, RT, and DW.
It is through these adventures that the characters determine Haarlock's goals and eventually discover the truth of the Blind Tessaract.
My goal is to have the characters begin their ascention going into Dead Star making the Haarlock Legacy a truthly indepth campaign following in the steps of many of the old Call of Cthulhu campaigns. Any ideas for following the Haarlock trail out into the expanse and how he is tied in with the Worms that Walk?
